(1) Our family has used all types of hand sanitizers and cleansers all with ingredients ranging from triclosan to alcohol. Previous products dried out our skin to the point of itching and sometimes bleeding and the strong alcohol scent gets old quickly. Our daughter has an autoimmune disease and blood disorder (severe aplastic anemia) that requires she be as near to germ free as possible at all times. We have only tried the Spearmint/Lime scent and although we love the scent which is much more spearmint than lime, others do not like the fragrance. It reminds me of mint toothpaste which I don’t mind and there are other scents to choose from - it just smells natural and fresh, not chemical-like. This product kills more types of germs than any other sanitizer and cleanser out there. It’s more expensive for a reason, but peace of mind to us is priceless. We keep the larger bottle in our cars and the smaller ones in our purse, backpack, etc. We also use the foaming cleanser in the kitchen and bathrooms - particularly handy after handling raw meats and eggs as it kills e-coli and salmonella and a little bit of product goes a long way. Buy it, try it, you won’t regret it.

(1) ur family has been using Thermazene for years. Our supply ran out just a few weeks ago and we began looking for a re-supply. In researching the product source, I found that our recently exhausted product had an expire date of 1999 - but was still working fine 8 years later. Although I do not recommend or condone using a product past its published effective date, this is a product that works.

We’ve consistently used this product for sunburns and heat rashes. It takes the sting right out and usually keep sunburns from later peeling. I don’t know when the product was removed from “prescription only” requirements, but now that it’s available over the counter it’s certainly a product that has a place.

Purchasing through Amazon I received a supply literally 4 times the size of my earlier package at 10% under the price paid for the smaller product volume. It works just like the old standard and is, in fact, the exact product (manufacturer and all) that I’ve been using. For children that just don’t keep that sunblock on until it’s too late, or the dad that doesn’t think he’ll burn, this is the savior when it’s realized that neither expectation is going to turn out right and the skin starts throbbing.

I was nervous about doing a chemical peel on my face without a specialist around so I bought one of the gentler formulas to use on my face. I was hoping just to exfoliate some of the dullness from my skin with this, but was surprised at just how much of a difference it made to my facial skin.

(1) I have had oily skin my whole life and have had a very hard time finding a product that would give moisure without making my skin greasy. Find a good doctor, get their opinion on which system you should use (dry skin, normal or oily), then compare and buy them from or through Amazon… I saved over $300.00 on all the products I normally use… can’t beat the products or the service. And I love to comparison shop!!!

After I had been using this line for a month I started receiving compliments on how good I looked, refreshed! Almost made me wonder what I looked like to them before! At 52 it feels good to be noticed - in a good way.

(1) Used to be on Proactiv auto-ship for all three products (wash, toner, and lotion) but the wash wasn’t anything special and the lotion was too harsh; however, the toner is awesome. No alcohol and never dries out my skin. Also, works wonders to smooth my skin and even-out tone. I realize that the level of AHA in the product is not very high, but it works for me just the same. Having the ability to not only buy the toner by itself, but buy it in a 6oz size (at a great price)is great.

(2) Proaciv is a highly effective acne treatment brand but, here’s the catch - you have to keep at it. Firstly, it takes a few weeks before you see significant results. This is the case for any acne treatment product really - you just HAVE to be consistent and give it time. So, folks looking for a quick solution to their problem (i.e. - clearing up your skin in time for prom or a wedding, for example) will be disappointed.

Secondly, it is not a magic potion capable of “curing” acne. Once you stop using the product, your acne will return unless you take active steps to maintain the health of your skin. It is often believed that merely using a product can be the only change made to help your skin. Clear skin is about more than just using the right brands…. having clear skin is about understanding skin.

Overall, I’d say use this product if you can afford to consistently buy it. If you can’t, understand the ways to help keep your skin healthy since, if you don’t take those steps, it is HIGHLY likely be disappointed once you stop using Proactiv.

Side note: Do use all three components of the set if you can. Since it was formulated to work as a set, it is better to use it that way in the end.

I have been using this product for two weeks now, and I am amazed already at the improvement in my skin. I am 25, and only this year have started having terrible breakouts with whiteheads, blackheads, and milia centered mostly on my cheeks right below my cheekbones. (1) As a lifelong resident of Florida, at 51 I have skin that’s decorated with many, many sun spots. My arms and legs are especially affected by the spots and I’ve been self-conscious about them for years. I’ve been very happy with the Alpha Hydrox cream for my face so I decided to try the lotion on my arms and legs.

I’ve been using it now for about 6 weeks and the change in my skin’s appearance is fantastic! The spots will never go away, but they are much, much fainter and less noticeable. Overall the skin is smoother and softer and just looks and feels much better.

I use this most evenings, putting it on my arms and legs while I watch TV. I wait anywhere from 10 minutes to an hour and then put on a regular moisturizing lotion. I’ve read warnings that the AHA will cause the skin to be more susceptible to sunburning, so I’ve been careful to use a body lotion with SPF 15 every morning since starting this routine. I have no idea if the AHA really makes sunburning more likely, or if the SPF lotion is making any difference, but my skin looks and feels great so I’m happy.

If you have sensitive skin and haven’t used AHA products before you might want to start out with a 8% solution and work your way up, but I haven’t had any reaction to this lotion. If I have a fresh scratch or boo-boo it might sting a little when I first put it on, but that’s it. I very highly recommend this product for anybody who wants smoother, better-looking skin!

No false hype or inflated claims and even The New York Times recently touted the powers of alpha hydroxy acids because they do work well and have a track record to prove it. There simply is no need to spend an excessive amount for good healthy skin care. There are a handful of proven active ingredients in products out there that actually work and this is one of them. Also, Paula Begoun has been a keen truthful watchdog for years about what works and what is pure hype, I surfed into her site and it’s chock full of info & truths.
