I couldn’t handle metal earrings for more than two days. The aching pain was incredible. I bought these and I like them – no more pain. I’m also chemically sensitive and have trouble wearing synthetic clothing, but these I haven’t had a problem with these (probably because they are such hard plastic). I’ve also found I can tolerate their titanium ones, though I have a little trouble with the little bit of gold plating on the ones that have that.

I do not like that there is no catch on the back of these to keep their backs on (the titanium ones have a catch). I’ve had many of the backs slide off at inopportune times (like in the shower) then ran out of backs so I couldn’t wear them anymore. This was rather costly. BUT, I complained to Blomdahl and found that if you email them you can get some extra backs. I’ve found the new backs they sent me fit tighter and so stay on better, but after a while they do loosen up, but I haven’t lost one again yet. You can go to Blomdahl. com for contact details.

FYI, they also have special ones for ear peircing which are good if you don’t know if you are allergic to nickel or if you want to help prevent becoming allergic to it. Apparently when the ears are still raw you are more likely to become allergic to nickel on exposure to it.
